A small plane crashed in northeast Philadelphia, creating a scene of fiery wreckage and chaos on Friday evening.
The aircraft, identified as a Learjet 55, was en route from the Northeast Philadelphia Airport to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri when it met its fate after 6 PM, near Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard.
Onboard were six individuals: two pilots, two doctors, a patient, and a family member. Emergency responders quickly rushed to the scene, battling to control the flames engulfing the crash site.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the plane plummet and collide with nearby cars and businesses, causing multiple fires and leaving a trail of destruction. The status of those aboard and any additional casualties remains unclear.
