Oprah Winfrey turned heads as she showcased her stunning weight loss transformation in Santa Barbara. The legendary 70-year-old TV host was seen with her buddy Maria Shriver, both looking sporty in their workout gear. Oprah wore a grey-green long-sleeve shirt, lighter-green cropped leggings, and sleek burgundy trainers. Maria sported a white graphic T-shirt, black leggings, and comfortable trainers.

The two, who are rarely seen together in public, didn’t just hit the gym. They swung by a commercial construction project, although their connection to it remains a mystery. Oprah’s journey with weight loss has been a topic of much discussion. After initially denying the use of medications like Ozempic, she later defended their use, criticising those who shame people for taking weight-loss aids.

In a recent interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, Oprah opened up about past traumatic experiences related to her weight. She recounted her first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson when Joan Rivers shamed her on national TV by asking, ‘Why are you so fat?’ Rivers went on to taunt her, saying she’d let Oprah return if she lost 15 pounds. Oprah admitted that instead of losing weight, she gained another 10 pounds.

Oprah also shared how she nearly lost a role in ‘The Color Purple’ due to her weight. She checked into a ‘health retreat,’ accepting that her weight had cost her the role. However, she then received a life-changing call from producer Steven Spielberg, warning her not to lose even a pound. It was a defining moment for her, teaching her to work hard and then let go.

Their busy day ended with a coffee run and a drive back to Oprah’s mansion in Montecito. Oprah has been open about losing around 40lbs with the help of weight-loss drugs and regular exercise, a journey she continues to share with her fans.
