On Sunday, Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps wowed everyone on Instagram with a stunning black and gold bikini picture. But she didn’t just leave it at that. She shared with DailyMail.com the secrets behind her incredible figure at 59.
Luann revealed she works hard to keep her figure in check. “I exercise all the time, many times a day I go for a walk. I go to the gym and I have lots of sex – just kidding, not kidding,” she laughed. Her mother, at 95, also plays a big role in her understanding of ageing. “I think that jeans play huge as you age, to be honest,” she added.
But Luann didn’t stop there. On her current cabaret tour, set to hit Baltimore on July 26, she picked up a valuable diet tip from a nutritionist. She shared this pearl of wisdom: “A trick is to chew your food because digestion starts in your mouth. Also, you shouldn’t drink 30 minutes before or after eating because it messes with everything in your gut.” Emphasising the importance of chewing, Luann insisted, “You’re welcome!”
Apart from her new tip, Luann credits her toned physique to avoiding alcohol, sticking to a Mediterranean diet, practising intermittent fasting, and doing yoga. “First of all, I’m happy,” she shared earlier this year on Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino. “Second of all, I’m not drinking so that makes me even happier and keeps the weight off, I gotta say.” Luann had a stint of drinking during the pandemic but has since returned to sobriety, which she believes has significantly contributed to her well-being.
In addition to her diet and exercise routines, Luann incorporates yoga and beach walks to stay active. She usually avoids eating before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m., opting for lighter meals if she eats at night. Her diet strongly aligns with Mediterranean principles, which she firmly believes help maintain her figure.
At 59, Luann de Lesseps continues to amaze with her fit physique and youthful energy, all thanks to a combination of rigorous exercise, smart eating habits, and staying happy. Her tips might just inspire others to follow in her footsteps!
