Four days after Karen and Deon Derrico from Doubling Down with the Derricos announced their breakup, Karen shared how her family has been handling the split. Speaking in a June 20 Instagram video, she assured everyone, ‘I am doing as good as can be. The children are doing good. It’s summertime, we definitely want to keep them all busy and occupied, and that’s the plan right now.’

Karen, who has 14 children with Deon, including Darian, 18, Derrick, 13, twins Dallas and Denver, 12, quintuplets Deniko, Dariz, Deonee, Daiten, and Daician, 10, twins Diez and Dior, 6, and triplets Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver, 4, thanked their supporters, adding, ‘I feel the love. I genuinely feel the love. I can almost get emotional. To see the outpour is just amazing. So, I just wanted to tell you all, thank you for the love and support.’

Karen is focusing on self-care and quality time with her kids during their summer vacation, explaining, ‘I’m definitely looking into taking care of Karen for a while. We all need to look into that, so that’s what I’m focused on.’

Looking ahead, Karen mentioned she has several speaking engagements to navigate, stating, ‘There’s a lot of speaking engagements coming my way that I have to go through and choose where I’m gonna go, but I am thankful and grateful for that, to tell my story, my journey.’

Karen and Deon, who wed in 2005, have been documenting their lives with their 14 children on TLC since 2020. They filed for divorce on June 4 and finalized it two days later. In a joint statement to E! News, they said, ‘Together, we remain unified in the parenting of our 14 beautiful children—their well-being is our priority. We thank everyone for their understanding and support as we move forward for the good of our family.’

Karen and Deon Derrico are committed to their children’s well-being and moving forward as co-parents.
