Jennifer Lopez, renowned for her role in Hustlers, celebrated her 55th birthday in style with a Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons, New York, on July 20. Her friends and family fully embraced the theme, arriving in elaborate Regency-era costumes reminiscent of the Netflix series Bridgerton, known for its extravagant balls.
Lopez’s mum, Guadalupe Rodríguez, wowed the crowd in a short-sleeve, empire waist, pastel blue gown adorned with a white lace overlay. Despite the festive atmosphere, one notable absence outside the venue was Lopez herself, along with her husband, Ben Affleck.
Rumours of a split between J.Lo and Affleck have been swirling for months. Their absence fuelled more speculation as they celebrated their second wedding anniversary apart. Lopez stayed in the Hamptons, while Affleck was in Los Angeles, where they recently listed a mansion for sale at $68 million.
Affleck, 51, often frequents Los Angeles, where his three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner reside. He also wrapped up filming the sequel to The Accountant in the city this past spring.
Interestingly, the couple hasn’t been seen together for over a month. In June, Lopez vacationed solo in Italy instead of kickstarting her This Is Me…Live tour, which was cancelled in May. She cited her need to spend time with her children, family, and close friends as the reason for the cancellation.
On the bright side, Lopez shared a rare, upbeat selfie on the day of her birthday party. She posted on Instagram, “Today is gonna be a great day. Happy Saturday everybody.”
