Ernie Hudson is proving that age is just a number. The “Ghostbusters” star, at 78, recently took on a grueling core workout led by celebrity trainer Tony Horton for his “Power Up” YouTube series. Hudson, who previously went viral for his remarkable physique, aims to keep his midsection, which he affectionately calls “Mr. Jiggles,” in check.

As Hudson joined Horton, he dove into exercises like bicycle crunches, butterfly kicks, and various plank variations. Hudson’s dedication to fitness isn’t just for vanity; he believes staying in good shape has played a crucial role in the longevity of his career. He shared, “I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about that, I just make sure that when I need to do something, I’m able to do it.”

Hudson’s grandma always reminded him not to “worry about being brilliant” but to focus on not “being stupid.” He quipped, “We know what we need to do and when we don’t do it that’s kinda stupid. So even though I may not be working now, I’m gonna be working. And in that situation, I might be called upon to do certain things and I have to be ready to do it.”

Hudson made headlines earlier this year when he appeared at a “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” photo call wearing a tight black T-shirt that showcased his impressive body. Fans were quick to comment on his youthful appearance, with one saying, “Sweet baby Jesus, I’m lusting after someone’s Grandpappy.” Another added, “I pray I look half as good as Ernie Hudson at 80. Lift weights, kids.”

Despite the attention, Hudson remained humble and even a bit embarrassed. He explained to Men’s Health that he only ditched his jacket because it had a smudge on it, not to show off. “I wasn’t flexing or anything, I didn’t really think about it,” he said. “But it’s nice to be noticed. It’s flattering in a lot of ways.”

Hudson’s fitness routine includes walking, strength training, pilates, and exercises for coordination and balance. He is disciplined with his diet too, rarely eating before noon or after 7 p.m. and avoiding alcohol for years. He shared, “I just want to live as full and complete a life as I can, to enjoy the time I have, to live a good life, and be an example of what God can do.”

Ernie Hudson is an inspiration, showing that it’s never too late to stay fit and healthy. His dedication to his health and fitness is clearly paying off, not just for his career but also for his overall well-being. Keep an eye on this ageless wonder, because he’s definitely not slowing down anytime soon.
